Star Stable Windows Vista Guide

Star Stable does not support Windows Vista, but in most cases can still work on that operating system. Here are some general guidelines in getting Star Stable to work on Windows Vista:

Windows Update

You need to run Windows Update and made sure that your computer is continuously updated. To find Windows Update, you can do a search for this application on your computer. Then double click the Windows Update icon to run the program.

Driver Update

You need to make sure that you have the latest drivers for all your hardware, for instance graphics card and sound devices.

Other known issues with Windows Vista

Installing DirectX. You need to be logged onto your computer with a User Account with Administrator access in order to install DirectX that is included on the Star Stable CD. If you don’t install DirectX from the Star Stable CD the game may not function as intended.

Create dxdiag

In Windows Vista you create a dxdiag by typing “dxdiag” in the Search Box on the Start Menu.
