| Q: I can’t start the game. What do I do? |
| A: Check that your computer fulfils the minimum system requirements. If it does, check that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and that you have downloaded the latest updates of your operating system using Live Update. If you still have problems, please contact your PC supplier to see if there is something wrong with your computer. |
| Q: The game doesn’t play properly.
I have lagging problems and/or crashes. |
A: There are several things that can cause this. Check the list below:
- Check that your computer meets the system requirements.
- Check that you have updated your operating system and your graphic card drivers.
- Close all programs running in the background.
- Lower the graphics detail level in the game settings.
- You may have some hardware problems. Contact your PC supplier.

| Q: Upon reaching level 6 the game
crashes. The level loading screen appears, loads the level,
and the OK button appears. When I click the OK button the
game immediately crashes. No sound, no error tag, it just
crashes. |
| A: You need to download a patch fixing
this problem. The patch can be downloaded here: http://www.hidden.se/starshine/files/StarshineEpisode1USUpdateInstaller.zip.
When the patch is downloaded, simply unzip the file end
double-click it. When the patch is installed the game should
work properly. |
| Q: When I get to level 6, I get
the following error message: "PXStudioEngine.exe has
encountered a problem and needs to shut down”. |
| A: You need to download a patch fixing

| Q: I have no sound? |
| A: Check to see if the sound is turned of or the volume turned down on your computer in the Start menu: Settings/control panel/Sounds and audio devices. Otherwise check the options menu in the game if the game's internal volume is turned down. |
| Q: I can’t seem to save my game? |
| A: You can only save the game when you have finished a level. When the level is finished, a question comes up if you want to save your game or continue without saving. Click on “Save the game”. After that a screen comes up with small thumbnails of your saved games. Click in the slot you want to save your game in. If you have unused slots, it is recommended to use one of those. If not, choose a slot to save over. Finally, you click “Continue” to resume the game and play the next level. |
| Q: How do I control Lisa? |
| A: All instructions on how to control Lisa when walking or riding can be found in the “Help-file” installed along with the game. You can find the help-file under Start/Programs/Stabenfeldt/Episode 1. You can also get these instructions in-game if you have the help-bubbles turned on under the “Options”-menu. |

| Q: I don’t remember what to do. Where can I find out what I am supposed to do? |
| A: Chose the diary (the little book in the right corner) using the scroll button on the mouse or the page up/down keys. Chose the diary. In it you can see what your current task is. If that doesn’t help you, try to talk to all the characters in the game. Maybe they can give you some clues. |
